Children’s Memorial

SOUND
A cantor states the full name of a murdered child followed by an incantation of their birth date and death date.

INSTALLATION
Working with photographs collected from newspaper articles of murdered Chicago schoolchildren, screenprints of
just the children’s eyes are hung at the height each child was when he or she was murdered.

VIDEO
Schoolchildren in high crime neighborhoods create videos showing their strategies and actualizations of daily
commutes to and from school.

Artwork is an ongoing proposal.
