Mirror With A Memory
A video combining digitally archived film and contemporary video shot by Annie Feldmeier Adams
with music by Interbellum exploring the relationship between destruction and creation in human
and natural forces. Inspired by New Orleans, Louisiana, a city destroyed in 2005 by the failure
of the New Orleans levee and floodwall system during Hurricane Katrina.
Archival footage includes Thomas Edison's first films; clips of natural disasters include flooding,
hurricanes and tornadoes; as well as videos of Mardi Gras parades and levee's. Contemporary
footage includes birds in a bush and a winter snow storm.
14 min. video shown with live improvised music in collaboration with Brendan Burke (Interbellum) and
Fred Lonberg-Holm at the Gene Siskel Film Center, Conversations At The Edge (CATE) series, Chicago, IL.
